Toyota Helps Communities Properly Recycle Hazardous Waste
How many of you have taken to cleaning out the house and the garage in prep for summer? We’re sure a lot have, and you’re probably finding things you’d like to get rid of, be it an old piece of furniture, paint cans, and much more. Of course, at Walser Toyota , we hope people are making sure these items get thrown away responsible, just as Toyota has with its products over the years.
Did you know that in the last 20 years, Toyota has helped many communities and partners by hosting e-waste and hazardous waste collections? Take, for example, paint. It has to go to a hazardous waste center, so it doesn’t go to landfills, and potentially cause harm to our areas.
In total, Toyota has collected over 1.5 million pounds, or 709 short tons of waste to prevent it from going to landfills and be properly disposed of. That’s 519 Prius vehicles, or 130 elephants, or 10 space shuttles. It’s a lot, is what we’re saying.
Also, any reusable items were donated or recycled, so we can create a more sustainable society.
Here in Bloomington, MN, we have many e-waste and hazardous waste facilities, so make sure you contact them when you have materials you think they can dispose of.
