Once Again Toyota Wins the #1 Top-Selling Automaker Award
At Walser Toyota we promise we aren’t popping champagne bottles in the break room over the recent news, but we are excited and have given a small round of applause to the staff, buyers, and Toyota company. Why? Well, folks for the second year running Toyota has been named #1 as the World’s Top-Selling Automaker for the 2013 year!
Since 2012 the company has seen a 2.4% gain in the number of cars sold and helped make 9.98 million buyers worldwide happy drivers. The company has ambitious goals for 2014 to become the first automaker to sell 10 million cars in a year and after seeing our steady growth we believe this is very possible.
The company is not ready to rest though. Our competition is nipping at our heels so we understand the importance of staying at the top of the auto industry, and there are already exciting changes to look forward to.
For starters, the 4th Generation Toyota Prius is getting a redesign that is expected to shave away 20% of the vehicle’s weight and make it even more fuel efficient. The look will also be more cohesive across the Toyota fleet and redesigns are always an exciting time for manufacturers and shoppers.
The Toyota Tundra will also be receiving an off-roading upgrade that will be called the Tundra TRD Pro. More information on this upgrade will be available at next week’s Chicago Auto Show, but until then the company is being tight-lipped, which is great because who likes opening a present when they already know what it is?
With the changes and company drive, we look forward to competing against other companies and hopefully claiming the title for the third year in a row. From what we’ve heard professional athletes talk about on TV, a 3 peat doesn’t sound bad at all.
