Toyota is coming back to NHRA Drag Racing and Funny Car competitions this year with a Toyota Camry body.These cars are way more powerful than those street legal Camry's from Walser Toyota in Bloomington, Minnesota.

This deal is not just about design, Toyota will have an advertising presence at ESPN2 broadcasts of NHRA Drag Racing.

The auto maker began involvement with NHRA in 2002 with a Celica-based Funny Car. It wasn't until 2004 that Toyota claimed their first victory at the O'Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Winter Nationals. Since then, Toyota-sponsored vehicles have earned a multitude of NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series victories, as well as World Championships in 2010 and 2011.

"Toyota has a proven track record around sponsorship activation, and to have their involvement as an event-rights sponsor of one of the most prestigious stops on the NHRA Full Throttle Series is very exciting."¹
