World's #1 Auto Brand Still Comes in On Top

According to Interbrand's Best Global Brands 2011 Report, which takes into account financial performance of products and services, the role of a brand in purchase decisions, and the ability to bring in earnings for the company, Toyota is still the number one automotive brand.

In fact, Toyota gained 6 performance points this year, with 11 points in all, including recognition for dealing favorably with quality issues, and their ability to triumph despite the aftermath of Japan's earthquake and tsunami. And with vehicles like Toyota Highlander and hybrid Toyota Prius it's no wonder Toyota is still the best automaker out there.

Interbrand even went so far as to state after the "Best Global Brands" for 2011 were announced: "...Though Toyota faced both an internal crisis and an external crisis, the company forged ahead by focusing on safety and quality, modifying its leadership structure and capitalizing on its world-renown green efforts".1
